Privacy Policy for CircleCam
Privacy Policy and Data Handling for CircleCam macOS App
Last updated: June 9th 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how CircleCam (the “App”) developed by cavecafe.cc (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles data on your macOS device. We are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a secure experience.
1. Data Collection & Transmission (Local-First Design)
CircleCam is designed as a local-first application.
- Zero Server Storage: We do NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information, camera feeds, or image captures to our servers or any third parties.
- In-Memory Local Processing: All camera capture, circular cropping, glow rendering, and border effects are processed entirely in-memory on your local computer. No video data is written to disk or sent over the network.
2. Required System Permissions
To provide its core functionality, the App requests access to specific macOS system resources. These permissions are only used locally:
- Camera Access: Used to fetch the video stream from your webcam or connected camera device in order to display and shape it into a circular window overlay.
You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time through the macOS System Settings.
3. Analytics and Advertising
- No Tracking: We do not use any third-party analytics SDKs, trackers, or advertising networks inside the App.
- Anonymous App Store Statistics: We only receive aggregate, anonymous download statistics provided by Apple through the Mac App Store Connect console, which does not contain any personally identifiable information.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or macOS security guidelines. Any updates will be published directly on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
